Rain Bowl
Rain Bowl
December 16, 1979
Tampa Stadium, Tampa
Tampa Bay (3) over Kansas City (0)
Heavy rain pours down during the game.
The grass holds up but large lakes form on the field as rivers
of water
cascade down the aisles. The game was critical for the Bucs, as it
was needed to clinch a playoff berth after
they had lost the 3 previous games in that quest.
The games was scoreless until the fourth quarter when Neil O'Donoghue
connected on the decisive field goal to send the Bucs into the playoffs.
